Usually Desserts are served cold or chilled but this is served warm. The cake is served with the hot toffee sauce that just blend with the cake. and make it more gooey , sticky soft texture it can also be served with Ice cream … But I felt that the pudding along itself is yummy already..
The main secret ingredient is dates which is chopped and added to the cake batter… And Next part is toffee sauce which make this dessert rich, moist and delicious..
I have been away from blogging for last 3 weeks… because I’m on short break to India ….In this short disappearance Many have messaged me personally asking me what happened to me and they missed my post etc ..I’m really glad that many have started to follow my blog and they do really miss me and my blog post…Alhmdhulila..After a week gap of not posting any recipes in Facebook ,I got a notification saying that 7500 people miss my post.I took just like that until messages started to come from many asking me missing in social media and blogging… Thank you all those who messaged me and keep supporting me as always your encouragement makes me to do more….Though Am in india now, I will try to post as much I can and not disappoint anyone…

- 1 (130gm) cup Dates pitted and finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 5 (75gm) Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp vanilla essence

- Pre heat the oven @180°c.. and grease the baking tin.
- In a bowl place the finely chopped dates and baking soda. Pour the boiling water over the dates and stir to combine. Let sit for about 10-15 minutes
- In another bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt , keep aside
- In a big bowl beat the butter until soft and creamy. Add the brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Add in vanilla essence ,eggs and beat until combined.
- Then add the flour mixture and beat until combined. Fold in the dates, along with their liquid
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with the back of a spoon or an offset spatula. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and place on a wire rack. Then with a wooden skewer or toothpick poke holes over the entire surface of the cake. Pour about 1/2 cup (120 ml) of the hot toffee sauce evenly over the top of the cake.
- While the cake is baking, place all the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. Place over medium heat, and stirring constantly, heat until the butter melts and the sugar has dissolve.
- Serve the cake warm from the oven with the remaining toffee sauce.
