Luqaimat is a sweet Arabic dumpling which is Crunchy on the outside, soft and airy in the middle then they are served with sugar syrup.

Today its 10th of month and time for MFBchallenge..Last month we completed one year of challenge .This month challenge is Something sweet its “Arabic sweets”.I love Arabic sweets which has mainly cheese ,nuts and sweets drizzled with sugar syrup.So I have selected a traditional emarati sweet “Luqaimat”a sweet dumpling very easy in preparation and most widely seen sweets.An Arabic word that literally means ‘bite-sized’, it is a traditional dessert

Today I am serving the Luqaimat in  three diffetent ways. It is drizzled with sugar syrup , nuttela  and rolled in powered sugar.  The dumplings are fried and drizzled with sugar syrup and served hot. whenever we go to Global village we never forget to have a plate of freshly prepared luqaimat… hot and crunchy ..

In the below picture the dumplings are dipped in the  thick sugar syrup..

In the below picture  dumplings are coated in powdered sugar.

In the below picture the dymplings are drizzled with sugar syrup and nutella..

Finally serving the Luqaimat sundae .yes the dumplings are fried and drizzled with sugar syrup and nutella  then served  with scoop of Ice cream and topped with your favourite nuts , sprinklers , chocolatechips etc of your choice..


Luqaimat - Sweet dumplings

Luqaimat is a sweet Arabic dumpling which is Crunchy on the outside, soft and airy in the middle then they are served with sugar syrup.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sugar syrup by placing the sugar and water in a pan and allow it to boil then after 10 minutes switch off the gas and add lemon juice and saffron essence.
  2. In a bowl add all ingredients for dumpling except water
  3. If your yeast need blooming .then do separately and add to the flour.
  4. Gradually add the water and mix until right consistency.It should not be thick or loose.
  5. Cover the bowl and keep it to rise for 2 hour.
  6. Once nicely risen deep fry it by pinching the batter into round balls in the hot oil and fry till golden brown .
To serve
  1. 1.Dip the fried dumpling in the sugar syrup and serve
  2. 2.Dip the fried dumplingin the sugarsyrup and drizzle with nutella cream.or only dip in nutella cream and serve
  3. 3.Coat the fried dumpling in the powdered sugar an serve
  4. 4. serve the sugar syrup coated fried dumpling with the scoop of Icecream and nuts
